Oats

A nutritionally superior alternative to traditional hot porridge. That’s because the oats are raw and don’t lose any of their nutrients in the cooking process. We soak organic, whole rolled British oats in responsibly sourced cashew milk, resulting in a naturally creamy and easy-to digest, cold porridge.

When whole oats are soaked overnight this way they produce Oat-Gum, a source of the fibre, beta-glucans. This fibre forms a gel-like solution in the gut and is beneficial in supporting gut motility (keeping things moving). It’s also been linked to supporting a low cholesterol
level and promoting the growth of good bacteria in the digestive system.

Chia seeds

Just like oats, chia seeds are high in fibre and form gut friendly beta-glucans when soaked. Plus they’re a great source of protein and calcium, which is why they’re a staple of most vegetarian and vegan diets. With big fibre status, chia seeds also support water absorption in the digestive tract, preventing constipation and bloating.

Health benefits aside, chia seed puddings are loved for their unique texture. Get the recipe wrong, it’s bad – slimy bad. Get it right, it’s pure silky goodness. With The Good Grain, you know it’s going to be right every time.

Cashew milk

A popular dairy-milk alternative made from blended cashew nuts and water. We love it because it has a more earthy flavour than other, typically sweeter nut milks. Vegans love it because cashews are high in protein and healthy fats. Plus, research has shown that their high antioxidant content supports the body’s fight against free radicals and inflammation.

Medjool dates

There’s dates and then there’s medjool dates. They’re larger, sweeter and more caramel-like
than other varieties of the fruit, making them one of the best natural sweetners. They’re also famously high in fibre, which is great for aiding digestion. Dates are lesser known for being a solid source of antioxidants.

Why are they good for you?

The Good Grain jars contain nuts, so they’re not suitable for people with nut allergies and our Maple Tahini flavour contains sesame. Please check each ingredient list carefully, and know that although we do everything we reasonably can to prevent cross-contamination, there’s a chance that sesame could end up in other flavours.

Our jars are prepared in small batches without chemical preservatives, which means they have a shorter shelf-life than most processed products.

Always check the use-by-date on the back of each jar and keep these points in mind:

• For maximum taste, eat the fruit flavours first (fruit is prone to softening in the fridge)
• If you need to freeze some of your jars, do it as soon as they arrive. Then defrost in the fridge overnight and enjoy within 24 hours.

Quality ingredients is our mantra – because it’s the core of nutrition and natural flavour. We dedicate a lot of time to finding and testing the highest quality ingredients from trusted producers. Our oats are sourced from gluten-free, British farms that both grow and process the grain on site. This guarantees uniform quality control and a lower carbon footprint.

We’re constantly looking for ways to improve our supply chain – for our customers, suppliers and mother earth – so if you have any suggestions, definitely get in touch!
